There Are Other Fruits That Can Make Wine!
Florida is famous for many things, mainly as one of the holiday hotspots of the United States. Orlando is in Florida, and holds the worlds biggest Amusement parks, attracting many tourists. Florida receives more visitors a year than the whole of the United Kingdom and with so many attractions there is no wonder why. The largest theme park in the world is in Florida - Disney World, but there are more. There are at least six main theme parks in Florida, Harry Potter being the latest addition to this bunch, based in Universal Studios!
Are there more niche factors that make Florida special to individuals though. Florida does have much to offer, but something you may not know is that it is a main and leading manufacturer in citrus and orange grove winery. These fruits are just as another; they have sugar in them and therefore the ability to produce alcohol.
You see when the Spanish came over to America they wanted to use Florida’s great climate to grow wine. Grapes were the universal way to produce wine and are still the most commonly used fruit in the world. Even thought the atmosphere and the climate were perfect for growing the grapes, the soil was uninhabitable for them. This soil just didn't have the minerals and vitamins that the Grape needed to survive. Although hardy they couldn’t sustain themselves properly. The grapes just couldn't handle it, so they needed to find another solution, a fruit that could be sustained here.
The Orange appeared to be a good idea, because it was a rough fruit and grew in Florida anyway. The Oranges were perfectly suited to these climate conditions, and were also rich in sugar. There are orange grove wineries in Florida and are great for you to visit on your Florida holidays. USA holidays haven’t exactly blossomed because of the Orange wines, but they should be visited, maybe even if you are on a Fly Drive USA tour!
