Kids Gone Wild Part 2
Top 5 places to take your kids in Britain
I felt it about time to put together a list of great UK family holiday destinations.
- Edinburgh
- Dorset
- Lake District
- Loch Lomond
- Snowdonia
Edinburgh
From ghosts to puffins, Edinburgh is a fantastic place to holiday with your kids. It is the capital city of Scotland as is steeped with tradition and history. For adults of course there is the tradition of ale houses and whiskey drinking. For the rest of the family, there is Edinburgh Castle slap bang in the middle of Princes Street. So weird seeing a castle nestled opposite a row of high street shops!Don't be too scared for the 1.00pm gun
salute as a canon is let off - it sure makes you jump!
Dorset
The land of Jurassic history, the Jurassic coast is England’s first natural world heritage site~Welcome to the Engalnds first national heritage site 0 the Jurassic Coast}. It is 95 miles of coastline from East Devon to Dorset, with rocks that are around 185 million years old! If your kids are fans of dinosaurs then this is the place to be! My kids dared me to have a go at surfing lessons, and I absolutely loved it. Don't forget the wild ponies and deer of the New Forest!
Lake District
For family days out and day trips for kids that enjoy holidaying outdoors, then the Lake District will be a great option for you. It is a national park jam packed with amazing
things to do for kids of any ages. The Lake District is an excellent place to walk. The Kids will love playing in the many parks that the Lakes provide.
Loch Lomond
You’re going to be in Scotland so remember to dress for fairly cold and wet weather with reserves should the sun decide to shine! Loch Lomond and the Trossachs national park is a fantastic place to explore. there are so many wild animals and plants for the kids to see. Watch out for the very rare animals like water voles and red squirrels.
Snowdonia
Always remember to stay safe as the weather and dangers can change a lot around the mountains! Snowdonia national park is 838 square miles and is chock full of things for kids to do. There are beaches and hills, mountains and trains for kids to ride. You can go and visit old and closed mines and discover castle ruins.
